History

Luna Pier was founded some time in the early 1900s as a fishing community. By 1929, it had grown in population sufficiently to be assigned a post office. The community incorporated as a city in 1963, and today serves as both a bedroom community and resort.[3] Located off of exit 6, the community is bound to the west by Interstate 75 and to the east by Lake Erie.[4]
